I was on our local community news page this morning after sharing our delicious daily feature (Pan seared Lake Erie pickerel #yum!) and was so delighted to see a post from our friend Jackie Fraser from Fraberts Fresh Foods. It seems some apricots will be turning soon and they are lovely enough to offer them for free if someone could use them.
This is perfect timing as yesterday we were discussing the possibility of making some preserves at the restaurant. So my natural reaction was to call Chef Greg whom, being an awesome employee, did not answer my call because he was busy working. Next on my call list, Tyson, who immediately ran over to Fraberts and snagged those apricots like a famine was on it's way!
When Tyson and Greg saw those magnificent FREE apricots their wheels started turning. Greg is talking all sorts of preserves and Tyson is thinking house made bitters and a possible cocktail feature for this evening's Car Show.
